Robbie Robertson (born Jaime Royal Robertson in Toronto on 5 July 1943 ; died 9 August 2023) was a Canadian songwriter, guitarist and singer remembered for his work as lead guitarist for Bob Dylan in the mid-late 1960s and early-mid 1970 and for being guitarist and songwriter with The Band from their inception until 1978.
