Ronnie Spector (born Veronica Yvette Bennett in New York City on 10 August 1943; died 12 January 2022) was the lead singer of the 1960's girl group The Ronettes, who most famously sang Be My Baby. She was the ex-wife of producer Phil Spector. Kept a near prisoner by Phil Spector throughout her teens and 20s, she eventually left the abusive relationship to raise her son, and re-establish her languishing singing career.
