Li Xiang-Lan

She was born Yamaguche Yoshiko in 1920, in northeast China , from a Japanese family. Her father was a Japanese, working in the Manchiurian Railroad and taught her chinese language, in addition to her native tongue, Japanese. She had two chinese godfathers and was given two chinese names . She uses one of them Li Xiang-Lan while in China. She was educated in Beijing and spoke chinese as if that was her native tongue.
