Josquin des Pres

Josquin des Prez (c. 1459 – August 27, 1521) was a renowned Flemish Renaissance composer who specialized in polyphonic harmony. From 1474 until after 1479 he was in the service of Duke Galeazzo Maria Sforza of Milan. He was a member of the Papal Chapel until 1494 and choirmaster at Cambrai from 1495 till 1499. From about 1500 he was in Paris in the service of Louis XII and in 1503 he was in Ferrara in the chapel of Duke Hercules d'Este. Towards the end of his life he became Provost of Conde.
