Forminx

Beat-group of the mid 60's from Greece. Forminx played beat-pop, sung in English in the style of the early Beatles and the Shadows. Famous member on hammond organ was Vangelis Papathanassiou (from 1968-71 successful with Aphrodite's Child, later as a solo artist). First there was just the idea of having fun, but the Forminx quickly became Greece's most popular band bringing beat music to their country. They filled concert halls with screaming fans.
